What is Bone Graft and Sinus Lift? Do I need it?
When doctor is evaluating how best to make your dental implant successful, you may be told that you require extra procedures. Bone graft and sinus lifts are ones that help make sure that your implant can remain strong and stable in your jaw.
Bone Graft

Bone graft is a surgical procedure to place donated bone tissue into the targeted area to help promote new bone growth. Depending on your body, the amount of time needed to heal will be different. On some rare cases, your body may not take, and will need to either redo the bone graft or find a different solution.
Our doctor will take a CT scan which allows them to see the bone density at the site of the potential implant. If your bone density is low, doctor may determine that bone graft is needed to help hold the implant in place.

Sinus Lift
When implants are placed on the upper jaw, sometimes there can be issue where the sinus area is too close to the implant site. To make sure that your implant is stable and secure, bone is added to push the sinus cavity up.
Similarly to bone graft, a doctor can determine if you require sinus lift with a CT scan.
